A Healthy, Beautiful Smile is Within Your Reach!

At Harmony Dental Care we provide the latest cosmetic treatments that can make a noticeable difference in the look of your smile, in a lot less time than you think and to preserve as much of your natural tooth structure as possible, depending upon your specific clinical situation.

Cosmetic Dentistry refers to a host of dental treatments designed to correct chipped, cracked, discoloured, and unevenly spaced teeth to enhance the overall look of your smile. If you have ever covered your mouth when you laugh or declined to smile for a picture, you might be wondering how you can smile with more confidence.

Technological advancements in natural-looking, tooth-coloured dental materials make today’s cosmetic dental treatments more durable and predictable than in years past. Dr. Dorothy Lalik will analyze your smile, and plan out cosmetic corrections to meet your expectations before we commence treatment. Some of the more popular cosmetic treatments performed in our office include:

Bonding: Bonding is the term used to describe the process of using composite resins to “glue” materials to the surface of a tooth for restorative purposes. Chipped or cracked teeth are typically repaired through bonding. This is a simple, painless and affordable procedure that has many uses, sculpted into shape, contoured and polished, making the crack or chip invisible.

Crown and Bridge: A dental crown is a custom-designed, tooth-shaped restoration that is fitted over the prepared surface of a damaged tooth to recapture the appearance and function of the tooth. A bridge is used to replace one or more missing teeth and is attached securely to the existing teeth on either side of the gap. These cosmetic choices are custom made to fit each patient, thus providing an aesthetically pleasing, long lasting solution to missing and/or damaged teeth.

Dentures: Dentures are used to replace missing teeth or damaged teeth that cannot be otherwise repaired. Complete dentures are used to replace missing teeth for people with no remaining teeth. Dentures may also be used for people who have lost several teeth. In this case, the appliance is called a partial denture or an overdenture.

Dental Implants: An implant is a metal cylinder, surgically inserted into the bone of the upper or lower jaw. The dental implant essentially replaces the root of the missing tooth and is acts as a natural tooth root would. These are designed to be long lasting and with care, can bring your smile back to life.

Dental Fillings: Dental fillings are used to repair damage to the structure of a tooth or teeth. Today, silver fillings can be replaced with tooth-coloured fillings for a much more natural look. Made of a tooth coloured resin material, these fillings are designed to match your existing teeth to provide you with a smile that looks clean and natural. With this resin compound bonding to your teeth, the seal is tighter and the restored tooth can be stronger than ever before.

Inlays/Onlays: Inlays and Onlays can be used to restore strength,  eliminate discomfort and treat decay. Our dental inlays and onlays are fabricated from porcelain or gold at the lab and are considered superior type of a restoration.

Orthodontics: Misaligned teeth and malocclusions can be straightened and corrected with dental braces and INVISALIGN ®. Orthodontics is both a functional and cosmetic treatment, and has become an increasingly popular field of dentistry.

Partial Crowns: Also known as indirect fillings, partial crowns made from porcelain or composite materials are a long-lasting yet cosmetic way to provide a “filling” to teeth with tooth decay or similar structural damage when there is not enough tooth structure for a filling. Whereas dental fillings are molded into place within the mouth during a dental visit, partial crowns are created in a dental laboratory before being fitted and adhesively bonded into place by Dr. Dorothy Lalik.

Teeth Whitening: Is one of the fastest and easiest ways to enhance your smile. Your beautiful, pearly white smile can be restored with simple tooth-whitening procedures performed in Waterloo. The effects are long-lasting and can help you brighten a smile dulled by aging, food, and drink stains or fluorosis.

Veneers: Is a simple way to repair crooked, chipped or misshapen teeth. They can also be used to cover badly stained teeth and to smooth out an uneven smile. Veneers are made of porcelain and are custom-fitted to your teeth. The process of fitting and bonding veneers to your teeth can be completed in as little as two visits.
